Belinda was a loving mother and wife. She always went without to make sure her kids had everything they needed. She spent many years working as a receptionist and office manager for a number of companies including Investors Mortgage and also worked for a number of insurance agencies. She was a hardworking woman who insisted on having a spotless house and on making dinner every night. Some of her favorite activities were shopping, decorating her home, and talking to her family on the phone. She was also a great cook who loved to make people their favorite meals when they came to visit her or she went to visit them. She was afraid of flying but did more than her share in order to be able to spend time with her geographically dispersed family.

In March 2011, she was diagnosed with a grade II diffuse fibrillary astrocytoma. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation which enabled her to fight off the cancer for 2 1/2 years.
