In Loving Memory Of Brendon Manning Barker 1/14.1992~1/6/2009
|
Adored and cherished by his family and friends, Brendon Manning Barker's life was tragically cut short on January 6th, 2009, just 8 days shy of his 17th Birthday.
Brendon was a junior at Strasburg High School. He is survived by his parents Jimmy and Janeen Johannsen and a sister, Ryan Barker, brother-in-law Andre (Dre) Keyes, a brand new nephew, little Andre Keyes, his grandmother Noel Wanless and his girlfriend, Sarah Bradley. Also surviving Brendon is his biological father, Gene Barker, Jr. and his paternal grandparents plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family.
Brendon was a loving, generous, dynamic young man who will be missed by all. He loved people and animals, music, cars, stereos, motorcycles, and especially loved his "snow days" from school. He loved fishing, tubing, climbing maple trees and playing in the mud. He was always ready to take up a challenge and a was a good negotiator, according to his dad, Jimmy. He was an infamous X-Box "gamer," networking and playing games with people all over the world. He was open and honest and extremely easy going. In short, even though he was quiet and modest, he was unforgettable.
Brendon was a good judge of character who chose his friends wisely. He was especially close to Kyle Coffman and Nic Reading (they were usually referred to as the Three Musketeers) and his cousin Beau Hawkins. There are too many other friends to name, but he loved them all.
A celebration of life service will be held at Strasburg High School Saturday, January 17th at 7:00 pm. in the old gymnasium. Mr. Mike Dorman will serve as speaker for the service. Immediately following the service refreshments will be served in the high school cafeteria for everyone.
