My Story

She was an amazing HUMAN Being!
Mother of two beautiful children, Cheyenne Lopez (9) & Aydin Ellin (4). Airline attendant, Hogan High School graduate in California, Buffalo State College Graduate.  I've asked family and friends to describe Denise to me and the first thing everyone has said was her Laugh.  Laughter was part of her soul. She loved the outdoors, and traveled around the globe.
My beach buddy, she and I would just pack whatever we could find to eat, gather essentials and go (before both of us had children and after). She loved it as much as I do.
Nicey was a conversationlist. My mom would tell us upon returning from a trip with Denise and say "Your sister should run for mayor, everyone knows her and she takes the time to shoot the breeze with them in return".
Denise had several families, HOME, WORK and all the people who crossed her path.  She would tell me stories of folks she had just meet and tell me their life story.
She had an adventurous spirit, she bunji jumped, travelled crazy hours to Europe, South America, All over the United States.
She loved to sing and dance and taught her children to love music and the arts too.  She loved all kinds of music from  musicals(west side story, grease) to rock , jazz, and soul.

Niecy's childhood began in Sprin Valley, New York. We then moved to Bronx, New York where she attended  P.S. 77. Then she moved to Vallejo California and attended her last year of High School. She attracted people back then too, because while reading her high school yearbook, friends would say " I only know you for a short itme but your a great person".  She  then decided to go to Buffalo State College, I was happy because I had attended the same shcool for a short time and proud of her for graduating. She met a great friend Joe Lotito and shared several years together.  Denise then went to work in big Apple. She began her work career at WCBS-FM radio station then within a year decided to join the CONTINENTAL Airline Family.

All I know is she was GOD's messenger during this time of her life.  She met so many people and changed so many lives with her smile, laughter and listening ear.  She shared so many stories of how she helped someone or someone helped her just with converstion. "What a gift!"

She then relocated to Miami Florida to be closer to our Mother.  Cheyenne was born a few yerars later.  What a joy her children brought to her life. The only time she wasn't with her kids was when she was in the air working.  They traveled across the U.S. visiting family and friends, no easy task with small kids, but it was so  important for her to share her children with the world.
VERY PROUD MOM.

She then met her husband David Ellin and Aydin her son  blessed us with his presence.  Another joyous moment for Niecy.

The following years were taxing for Niecy.  My Stepfather Milton Rodgriguez passed away in July 2005, then my grandfather in December 2005.  My mother was very saddened and by April of 2006 she passed away too.  For the family the loss was alot but for Niecy who lived with my mom and stepdad it was too much. Denise decided to move back to New York City.
Niecy spent her last years in Coram New York with my Uncle Johnny. She, as always in her short life created everlasting friendships there too.

There are many family & friends that Denise has left behind. I wish I could mention everyone and their story  but I will just say "Thank you"  for loving my sister.

Please feel free to leave your own personal stories of Denise and help me add to her life story. If any of her friends find this, please e-mail me to add your  contact information. I would love to share Her stories with those she found dear to her heart.
