My Story

Christine was born at St.Peter's Hospital in Olympia, Washington.  Her parents are Shirley Brown (Parker) and Donald Brown. While still in Washington they added Doug to the family.  A few years after Doug's birth they moved to the Last Frontier -  Anchorage, Alaska.  Once again the family received an addition, Jennifer.  Christine was always looking for adventure and trouble with her older sister Michelle. They were very good and finding all sorts of mischief.

We all grew up in the same house on Main Tree Dr. loving the view of the city.  Sitting on the couches together and watching a wind storm or the sunset.  Christine went to O'Malley Elementary then to Service High School.  While attending Service she received her love of tennis from our Dad.  She and Michelle were top players in the state for a year or two.  She had a WICKED backhand.  Christine tried to teach me once but I ran for cover too much.  Christine graduated from high school in 1984. And still remained in contact with many of her friends to her last day.

July 11, 1987 Christine married the love of her life, Jon Dietrich.  In 1989 the couple moved to Olympia, WA were Jon attended St. Martin's.  A little irony - Jon was born in St.Peters and our Dad attended St. Martins.  Valentine's Day 1991 Nicholas Jon was born!!!  Then the loss of baby Jessica Christine in 1992.  November 1993 the birth of Matthew Reid.  Busy few years for Christine but she loved every moment of parenting.  She then had additions of a nephews and nieces.  All the more for Christine to love on.

I can't name the date but around the year 1999 Christine fell in love with Jesus Christ.  She began a new mission....to be a disciple of all nations.  For those of you that know Christine you would know that she grabs hold of something and doesn't let go.  She learns as much as she can, challenging herself and others around her.  She became that disciple and showed her friends and family THE TRUTH, THE WAY AND THE LIGHT.

Christine needed to spread more of her around and started to foster children, wanting to adopt a little girl.  That little girl came in 2001, Danielle Kate joined our family.  Then in 2002 Dani's biological sister, Sarah Christine came into Christine's loving arms.  Her family was complete 2 boys and 2 girls.  The girls are always dressed to the T. The boys were too - up to a certain age then she was forced to back off.  Christine always spread joy around like pixie dust.

Christine and the family moved to Colorado Springs in 2006.  She LOVED the Springs, the sunshine sunshine sunshine.  Always nagging my  mom and I to move here.   Will here she meet A LOT of wonderful people and impacted all of their lives in one way or another.  I don't know how many people she told about Jesus, but never had a shy bone in her body when it came to Christ.  I think she talked about Him with everyone she met.
