Christopher Mark 'Chris' Byers was a loving, adored young man. He was hyperactive and naturally curious, and loved to swim, bike, and participate in Cub Scouts. Chris was just a typical eight-year-old boy, says his mother, Melissa Byers."He still believed in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. He liked to play in the dirt with trucks. He liked to color."
Sadly, Chris was brutally murdered on May 5, 1993. A precious life lost too soon at the hands of others.
"Christopher never hurt anybody. He had a gentle, loving, and giving heart. And they crucified him in those woods," said his mother, Melissa Byers, in Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hill.
Christopher was followed in death by his mother, Melissa Byers, who died in 1996. Both are forever loved, safe in the arms of the Lord.
