My Story

Hugh David Driesbaugh was born in Akron, Ohio December 21, 1932 and died February 23, 2008 in Tempe, Arizona.

Preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Delphin Driesbaugh; brother, Dean Driesbaugh; sister, Phyllis Wacker.

Survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Sally Driesbaugh; his three daughters, Karen Everett and husband, Jim of Laguna Niguel, CA; Pam Thomas and husband, Rick of Murray, Kentucky; Susan Gentry and husband, Kevin of Escalon, CA; four wonderful grandchildren: Kelli, Gregory, Steven and Staci; several nieces and nephews. David’s family was very important to him and was the focus and joy of his life.

David and Sally loved to travel as evident by all the "things" they have collected over the years.  He was gratefull for his loving wife, his three daughters and his wonderful grandchildren, as well as his extended family and friends.  He was indeed the ultimate family man, and will be missed by all who knew him.

David had a love affair with the ocean; to honor his wishes, family and friends will gather in Long Beach, California to celebrate his life.  The family will extend personal invitations to the gathering in an effort to keep the service at a small, intimate level, just as David had wished.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

In remembrance of David, you may send donations in his memory to Hospice of the Valley, Friendship Village 2525 E. Southern Ave. Tempe, AZ 85282  The caregivers at this location were extremely caring and thoughtful of which the entire family appreciated their efforts.
