Dorothy
Balsom was
called to take her rest on August 20, 2013.
She was born in Eudora, Arkansas Chicot County on
October 27, 1924, to Jessie and Lessie Washington. She was one of 10 children.
Dorothy was
preceded in death by her father and mother Jessie & Lessie
Washington, husband Willie Balsom; four brothers; Robert L. Smith,
Otis Washington, James Washington, and Lacy Washington; four Sisters Helen Moye,
Jessie Mae Washington, Luelle
Turner, and Katherine Washington; and a
son Lee Toney.
Dorothy
is
survived by a sister, Effie Jean Washington, Oakland, CA; a son, Robert
(Crystal) Morrison, Eagan MN; daughter-in-law Henrietta Toney;
three
nieces Sylvia Ross, Mildred Tatum and Luvene Jackson; two nephews, Steve Turner and
Jimmy Turner; grandchildren Stephanie (Terrell) Battle, Staci Toney, and Robbie
Morrison; great
grandchildren
Jamil
Toney, Taylor Toney, Emauri
Shaw, and Amaya Battle; great nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives
and friends.
Dorothy
reverenced the Lord Jesus Christ and she lived out her Christian walk by
showing forth His presence by serving in many roles in the body of Christ. She enjoyed bible study and always reading
His Word.
Dorothy
cherished her family and spent all holidays and weekends with them. She will truly be missed by all that was
touched by her life.
