My Story

Dwayne was born at the Medical College of Virginia on June 6, 1979. He was raised in Dinwiddie County until he was about 2 years old. Then we moved to Richmond Virginia. He was 2 when David and I married, and he raised Dwayne as his own son. He was able to adopt him when he started school. Dwayne had 2 sisters Rebecca and Kimberley. We spent most of the time in Henrico County near his grandparents Russell and Shirley Shaw. He went to Three Chopt elementary school and then Carver Elementary School. In 1988 we bought a house in Goochland County Virginia and this is where he grew up. He attended Goochland, Elementary, Middle and Graduated from the High School. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 710. He met and married Lara Abell and our first grandchild was born Hope Shaw. Then Hailey Shaw and Lacy Shaw. Then Jocelyn was born 2 months after God called him home.
