During their summers the family always got back together to vacation in the Canadian wild, at a cabin property that was built by her adopted father and brother. This property still remains in the family to this day and up until 1989 had been used for multiple family get togethers and reunions. Sadly Evelyn's adopted family had passed away a scant few years from each other. Her adopted parents had perished due to difficulties with illness, an her adopted brother had died unexpectedly with his wife of 14 years in an accident with a drunk driver. This was on a ski trip in which Evelyn was left to care for her nephew of 13 years, Christopher William Raemus. Evelyn had raised this young boy through the remainder of his childhood with her then Husband until his death in 1998. At this time her nephew had moved on to the old family home in Saint Paul leaving Evelyn to use her time to devote to multiple charities and church functions. Lastly she recently suffered from a bout of strokes that had hampered her way of life forcing her to seek treatment in a specialist hospital located in Provo Utah.

It is on this trip back from treatment in which Evelyn had left us, as did her nephew Christopher. Both were people of great integrity whom will be missed by all who knew them and had ever had a chance to meet them. Evelyn will be missed greatly by her church group and charity organizers as well as members of the local community. This page will also serve to the memory of Christopher William Raemus as well. Whom will also be missed by many in the local community as well as other communities in both Colorado and Minnesota. No words could ever express the sentiments we feel for these two fallen much sooner than their time should have allowed. May they both watch over us all in our trials and times of need.
