ADAMSON GEORGE DAY JR

ADAMSON GEORGE DAY JR. George Day Adamson Jr. 81 of Nicholas Dr. East Haven passed away peacefully at CT Hospice in Branford on Wednesday September 3 2008. He is the husband of Dolores Szott Adamson. George was born in New Haven August 25 1927 the son of the late George D. and Jean Smith Adamson Sr. A World War II Veteran he served with the United States Navy. George retired as a foreman from SNET Co. after 35 years of service and then worked for Marakesh Inc. George was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting fishing and his place in Aurora Maine. His garden was one of his favorite places and he was well known for his tomatoes. He was a #1 Dad. Besides his wife he leaves his children: Douglas Day Adamson and his wife Linda of Derby Claudia Ann Miles of Stamford Beverly Ann Zingarella and her husband Thomas of Guilford Jo-Ann Adamson of Buena Park CA and Scott Joseph Adamson of Lutz FL. Brother of Jean Lavorgna of Derby June Estok of Ansonia and the late Joan Heine. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. His funeral will leave the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME 821 State St. SATURDAY morning at 8:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30 am. Entombment with military honors in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Derby. Visiting hours will be on FRIDAY from 4 until 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Pompeii Church 355 Foxon Rd. East Haven CT 06512 or to Marakesh Inc. 524 Whalley Ave. New Haven CT 06515.
