My Story

Haylee Danyelle was born on july 13th 2001. A very happy and joyful day. She had little strands of dark blonde hair and big blue eyes. She was perfect, inside and out. 5 months later, Haylee met her newborn cousin, Shelby. Instantley they bonded and from that day on they were the best of friends and more like sisters, rather than cousins. Haylee was a funny little girl. She loved dance and she loved life. Her family ment the world too her, so when she was blessed with a baby brother in 2004, she was more than happy. Thomas is his name, but Haylee named him Bubba. He was Bubba and she was sissy. As soon as Bubba was a bit more mobile, they would play together for hours. Haylee would protect Bubba and always put him first. She was so sweet and generous. Haylee's 4th birthday was her last. She celebrated at home with friends and family. She ADORED dinosaurs, especially littlefoot from the land before time, so on her birthday, she had a dinosaur pinata. Dressed in her little princess bathing suit, she enjoyed her day. Never did we know that it would be the last birthday that she ever celebrated on earth.

June 3rd 2006. The day that will never be forgotten. The day that shattered the lifes of so many. The day that was full of tears. The day that our sweet, loving, amazing, wonderful Haylee girl lost her precious life. That day, mommy, Haylee and Bubba went to a family barbeque whilst Daddy went to work. It was about a 45 minute drive so Haylee shared an apple in the car with Bubba. The day was full of fun for Haylee, like most days. She lived her life too the full. Haylee was playing in the pool. She loved the water. Mommy called her in but Haylee wanted 10 more minutes. Her step-nan promised that she would watch Haylee so Bubba could be changed out of his wet clothes. 5 minutes later, the sound of shouting and screaming occured. "Call 911". As Haylee's mom ran outside, she saw Haylee laying on the ground, blue, having CPR done on her. Her step-nan broke her promise and walked away from Haylee. She left a 4 year old baby in the pool. She left her too drown. She could have prevented what happend. Our baby girl Haylee was rushed to the nearest hospital. Tommy was called and made his way to the hospital and so did Haylee grandmother Memaw and Uncle Robbie. These were the words, the nightmare, the agonising words that changed our lifes forever. "Im sorry Mrs Mazzella, but we have done all we can for your daughter".
