My Story

John was born in Bath, Somerset. A slight confusion over his name when his Bath and England Rugby player father registered the name backwards and so his name was registered as Reginald John. Growing up in Bath, he then walked the 12 miles to Bristol and joined up to the Royal Marines. Moving to the SBS he was nicknamed Bogie becase he stuck to things.

He met his wife Doris in Weymouth and between them they had 3 children, Richard, Carole and Sarah.

He left this world with 3 children, 4 grandchildren Annette, Mark, Lauren and Rebecca and 2 great grandchildren Lewis and Brandon.

John was a Royal Marine, an Engineer Inspector and in his later years a swimming teacher.

He was a keen sportsman and adored by his family.
