My Story

John Ventimeglia, composer and lead vocalist of the band Kreative Fantasy, on December 23, 1970, he apparently lost control of his car on a snow covered Sunrise Highway in Islip attempting to make it to his job in a local supermarket at around 5:30 pm. He was rushed to Southside Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A graduate of Brentwood High School class of 1970 and was working on the musical play 'Dreaming My Life Away' with good friend Lenny Emanuelli another 1970 Brentwood High graduate. The news on that day changed my life forever. John and I just finished writing the title song of the musical 'Dreaming My Life Away'. He left my house to go to his part time job at a supermarket in Islip on Sunrise Hwy. Needless to say he never made it as his car was not considered safe to ride on the icy snow covered street of Long Island. His car skidded past the median into the oncoming lane where he met his fate.

John was like a brother to me and his family was my adopted family. The good times we shared were short in actual time but never short emotionally. We wrote several songs together and made a single that made the LI Charts on WGLI as Bob Ottone; one of the DJ's there befriended us and helped promote our recording.

John's life was short but he was loved by many as thousands of people attended his funeral service. I will always love you.
