My Story

John Phillip Wolfe(1949 - 2013)

John Phillip Wolfe, 64, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, May 20th, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. John was born Jan. 31st, 1949, at Arcadia, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph Oscar and Donna Koala Wolfe. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1968 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, honorably serving a four year tour, mostly in Alaska, from 1968-1972. John is survived by five brothers: Walter, of Epworth, IA, Donald, of Dubuque, IA, Jeffrey, of Piney Flats, TN, and Michael of Clarksville, TN; three sisters: Lorraine Doyle of Piedmont, Sherry Griffin, of Lenexa, KS, and Amanda Wolfe of Clarksville, TN; many nephews and nieces, and numerous friends across the country. In John's later years he avidly pursued an interest in the recovery and documentation of meteorite artifacts, something that gave him great pleasure. Memorial services were held at First Baptist Church of Piedmont on Friday, May 24th, with Pastor Randy McCown officiating and military funeral honors rendered by an active duty Air Force Honor Guard from Tinker AFB in OKC.

Cremation. Arrangements were by OK Cremation & Mortuary Service of Oklahoma City.
