My Story

Ken began work at CrustBuster/SpeedKing as a young man, May 6th 1974, one day
after his 18th birthday. I had the priviledge of working with Ken since 1989.
In his role as plant manager of the Spearville facility Ken proved to be solid and consistent. He took all his tasks, problems and challenges and dealt with them straightforwardly. His intent was always the same, do what's right.
It was common to hear compliments of Ken our many outside vendors. No one ever
met Ken that had anything other than admiration for him.
Ken faced his illness as he did all challenges, with strength and determination. I really believed he would win the battle. he tried never to let his jpain show or stop him from
doing his job. He preformed without complaint and courage beyond belief.
Ken's leadership proved honest, trustworthy and solid. He was a tremendous asset to the company he served and the people he was entrusted to care for. He will truly be missed.
Although Ken had many responsibilities he took time on occasion to speak of his wife and family, always with great love and pride.
He also could not resist sharing a little family joking. Once he just had to show me a
new power tool his brother Joe had gave him. As I opened the case I was greeted by
a snake that raised up with the lid via invisible string, I would have sworn it was real. Ken had a great laugh at my reaction.
There were other stories as well, one of my favorites was about a fishing trip that had
alot more to do with fun and pranks than fishing. Someones fishing line got cut at a
most inopportun moment.  Anyone who knows Sharon would know that when she
has the biggest fish of the day hooked you would not want to cut her line.
j   It's the way I prefer to remember Ken, with a smile on his face and twinkle in his eye.

Ken and I  were married in 1976. We met at CrustBuster, and not only  worked together every day, we had lunch together, and came home together each day. We
had a beautiful marriage I will miss him dearly everyday. Sharon
