Khalil A. Kasumba-Muhangi Age 7, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the angels on Sunday, May 12, 2013.
Khalil was very intelligent and he wanted to grow up to become a Doctor that would heal cancer. Khalil suffered from Sickle Cell and was determined that no other child would have to live with the pain he did, that no other Mommy or Daddy would worry like I did. Khalil didn't worry about the crisis he experienced-he wanted to make sure no OTHER child had to go through any agony. This was especially profound as we would walk through the Oncology ward of the Children's Hospital and he witnessed THEIR suffering-he didn't think about his own. To Make them better, To Make Their Mommy And Daddy Happy-that was HIS DETERMINATION.
Khalil loved showing off his karate moves, and listening to all genres of music, from Garth Brooks to Led Zeppelin, from Pavarotti to James Brown. Khalil loved playing computer games and watching wrestling with his brothers on Monday night. His favorite cartoon characters were Mario, and he especially had a special love for Nazo the Hedgehog from Sonic.
Khalil was well known for his hair, wanting to be like the guitarist Slash from Guns N' Roses.
Khalil was cherished by all who met him and will be deeply missed by family - especially his brothers and sisters with whom he loved spending time.
Khalil is survived by his mother, Stefany Foster; brothers: Anthony, Darreal, Darrean, and Christian; and sisters: Aschten (with whom he had a special bond), Ahna, and Jaydan. Khalil also has a Great Grand-Mother, a Grand-Mother, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Friends-The List Goes On Of How many Love And Adore And Miss Khalil's Presence, His Wonder, His Being.
Khali Was A True Blessing-His Legacy Is One Of Love And Compassion And Sacrifice-And I Am Honored-Privileged, That God Gave Me The Fortune To Be Called His Mommy-If Only For A While.
In Khalil's Last Two Weeks Of Life, He Pinky Swore Me That He Would Never leave Me. I Don't Know Why That Keeps Replaying, But It Gives Me Hope That He Is Still Right Here-Next To Me, As He Always Has Been. 143Khalil
