My Story

Kim was the youngest of two sister's born in Los Angeles.  Shortly, after her birth her mother, Elaine died from a weak heart valve.  She and her sister Candice were separated and Kim lived with her mother's side of the family with her Grandparents Sasaki, and Candice with her grandparents Katayama.  Somewhere around 5 years old Kim was reunited with her sister Candice and lived with her grandparents Katayama in Los Angeles.

The whole family moved to Orange County at the beginning of second grade.  This is where she would meet her two best friends, Ingrid Zigenbein and Judy Martinson.  They were the 3 muskateers.  Kim was very well liked from Parkside Elementary School through El Modena High School.

The quality of her friendships were her greatest accomplishment in school.  She had a group of friends especially at El Modena who were very good friends to her.  Ingrid had moved away, but kept in touch with Kim, she and Judy remained friends, Mark Mason, Jennifer Massimino, Todd Gallina, Maura Fischer, Sharon Clark, Chris Blakley, Jenny Dunkle, and Robert Clemons.

She was loved very much by the whole family.  She was close to her sister Candice especially the last 3 years of her life.  She also had a very close relationship with her Aunt Kristine.

She was the easiest person to love.  She was gentle, kind, cute, and fun.  She hardly ever complained even though she had a difficult life, I don't ever remember her saying a mean thing about anyone.  She didn't have to be the center attention, and she never asked for much except to just be included.

After high school she began to work with her Grandpa Katayama at his Real Estate Development company in accounting.  She was very good at the job.

The love of her life was Scott Riddle, whom she had met after high school.

She died just before her 21st birthday.  It was a great loss for everyone.
