My Story

Klementy Grigoriyevich Nagorny (Russian: Клементий Григорьевич Нагорный) (1889-1918) was a sailor in the Imperial Russian Navy and on board the Imperial yacht Shtandart, and one of two sailor-nannies (the other being Andrey Derevenko) to Tsesarevich Alexei Nikolaevich. Nagorny voluntarily accompanied Emperor Nicholas II and his family—who had been arrested after Nicholas abdicated the throne in response to the February Revolution—into exile in the Siberian towns of Tobolsk (from August 1917 to April 1918) and then Yekaterinburg (from April 30), where he and fellow prisoner Ivan Sednev were arrested on May 27 and shot on June 1.
