My Story

Linda Cleminshaw was born in Barrie Ontario on 05 January 1964. Her arrival was greeted by Mom & Dad (Ruth and George) and four sisters (Shirley, Debbie, Marilyn and Joan). Her sister Lisa was to arrive two years later.
Being a child in a military family meant that Linda moved several times before settling down in London Ontario. Linda attended Sir Wilfred Laurier High School in London where she graduated in 1983.
Following graduation Linda worked at a few odd jobs before accepting employment with Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan (OHIP) where she was to meet her partner Sue Peters. After a few years OHIP decided to restructure resulting in Linda, amongst several others, losing her job. At the time this was thought to be devastating news for Linda. Although she hadn't been very happy in her job, she had become quite comfortable with her pay cheque.
As it turned out this was the best thing that could have happened. With her severance package from OHIP came the chance for her to go to college. Seizing the opportunity and with Sue’s support she excelled in the computing world, earning a computer science certificate.
After graduation and spending a year teaching, Linda saw the opportunity to become involved in computer software. Consequently she co-founded, with her sister Joan, C&C Software Solutions Inc. in 1997. The company has enjoyed much success under her leadership and as a legacy to her, will continue on.
Linda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on March 7, 2008. Although she knew there was a struggle to come, the word “quit” was never in Linda’s vocabulary. With grace, dignity, forbearance and humour she rose to every single challenge. She passed away at home with her family by her side on August 19th, 2009.
