My Story

Lyle Eugene Moore was born on June 16th, 1936 to Hazel and Everett Moore in Minot, North Dakota.  He had a brother Roland and a sister Dolores.  He was the youngest of the three children.  The Moore family later moved to Indiana.  It was there that Lyle married Mary Brovont on November 16, 1958.  Together they had 6 children, Sheila, Lyle, Lester, Bonnie, Kenneth and Loretta.  He was preceded in death by his twin infant sons Lyle and Lester.  He was also proceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Everett, his brother Roland, sister-in law Cleo, and two brother in-laws Virsel and Web.  Lyle has 10 grandchildren, Randi, Justin, Hope, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Bridget, Katelyn, Amanda, Tammy and Jasmine.  He has one great grandchild, Hannah.  He also has three son in-laws and two grandson in-laws.

Later on, Lyle moved from Indiana to Quinter, Kansas.  Lyle had a very busy and full life.  He owned a Shaklee and healthfood business, as well as a laundrymat and upholstery & shoe repair business.  He also was a volunteer EMT.  He was a loving father who spent alot of time raising his children, as he was a single parent for nearly twelve years.  Lyle belonged to the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.  Later on in his life, his journey took him to Leland, North Carolina where he lived for a number of years, and then finally back to Indiana where he lived in Goshen and later Wakarusa.  Lyle enjoyed making wooden toys and spending time with his minature poodle, Roofus.  On September 23, 2009, he was called home to be with the Lord and all of his loved ones who had preceded him in passing.

"Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be.
A resting place along the road to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys, different paths along the way.
We are all meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
for some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
we'll claim a great reward,
and find an everlasting peace,
together with the Lord."
