Grandpa Maurice was born with such a beautiful soul and heart that touched so many people throughout his life. He was born in Bloomington Wisconsin and resided mainly in Priaire Du Chien, Wisconsin. He was a hard worker, He worked on farms all around Grant county Wisconsin. He also worked on two ferry boats as a deck hand. The Rob Roy and the Wanamingo, these ferries would ferry cars From Prairie du Chien to Marquette and McGregor Iowa. Grandpa also worked in the woolen mill, a salvage yard, a cannery and he was a part of CCCamps and had a hand in creating what is now Wyalusing state park. He worked at Peoples State Bank as a janitor for over 35 years until his retirement. He lived life with such gusto. He loved to go to events of all kinds. Grandpa Maurice had friends from all over the world that he stayed in touch with for many years one penpal he had lasted for over 60 yrs. He was such a loving man who cared deeply for children and those in need. He could make friends so easily. He was a voracious reader and had a memory that was unsurpassed. He is so loved by many of us and will be missed. His legacy of joy will live in all the hearts of those he touched so dearly. We love you Grandpa Maurice. We know you are dancing in heaven.
