We wanted to remember you , by reminding ourselves of the things you loved the most.
We chose Guns n Roses, Sweet child o Mine, as the introduction to the ceremony. You loved the guitar music, and we thought that was a favourite of yours. Jacinta believed Phil Collins, Youll be in my heart, was appropriate for the interlude, when we displayed photos of you across the years, and we played Israel's Somewhere over the Rainbow at the end..
We reminded ourselves of your remarkable endeavours, with horse riding, athletics, speed skating, and all those wonderful achievements, you worked so hard to achieve, and were rewarded with numerous ribbons, trophies and acknowledgments from your peers.
Only your closest family were invited to attend. We may have appeared selfish to your friends. Your mother was so protective of you as a child, and even as a young adult, and even in your final time on earth, with your loving family around you, she did not want to share her final time with you, with anyone, except those family members,.
Your mother loved you so much, it is the hardest thing a parent would have to do, to bury a child.
Archdeacon of Hume, Father Peter MaCleod Miller conducted the service. We held a private ceremony at the Chapel at Hossack Funerals, in Albury; NSW
Melissa was buried in the Anglican section,of the Lawn Cemetery, at Wodonga, Vic
Your beautiful soul, will live on in our hearts forever.
Death leaves a heartbreak, no one can heal
Love leaves memories, no one can steal
