My Story

George Baker was born September  26, 1924 in  Sheet Rock VA to John and Eva Harris Baker he had  five brothers and six sisters. He join the United State Navy January 25, 1944 at the age of seventeen, and was honorable discharged February 19, 1946. He married Norma Maxzine Townsend and had three children Barbara, Rosalie, and Dianna. Norma Maxine died March 2, 1962 and he married Mary Lillie Lyons Noverber 15, 1963 in Carter County, Tennessee they had  seven children Donna Kay, Lillie Ann,  Patricia Lynn (Teresa), Linda Sue, George Wayne. Freddy Joe and Scarlet Star. He has eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Daddy was a loving man he would do anything for his children and grandchildren he loved his family very much.  
A few days before he died he called us all in his room and told as not to cry when he was gone that was a very sad time for the family we lost our dad, mom lost her husband, and friend. I love and miss him more than words can say.
