Jack
proudly served our Country in the US Marine Corp from 1954-1957, but even after
leaving active duty he was always a Marine at heart “Semper Fi”. In 1958 his
career began with ARA Services (ARAMARK) as a dedicated, respected, and
successful Division Manager in Indiana, California, and Texas until his
retirement due to poor health in 1994.
Jack “Papa”
was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and devoted husband.
When he wasn't working, Jack enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Michigan, Lake
Texoma and the Pacific Ocean. He was also an ardent do-it-yourselfer around the
house. He liked to do all this while listening to classic country music,
especially Johnny Cash. He was an avid and devoted fan of Notre Dame football
and basketball teams as well as NASCAR.
Anyone that knows
Jack knew his love of anything peanut butter, milkshakes and chocolate chip
cookie dough. He also enjoyed the presentation of food and frequently
demonstrated the art of making Irish coffee at dinner parties with Brenda.
Luckily he perfected this skill without catching the house on fire, despite
some close calls.
