Where: Ancil Hoffman Park - 6700 Tarshes Drive, Carmichael, California. (It's in Sacramento) There will be signs posted at the park on how to get to our site.
What to wear? This will be an intimate, casual event in the park, John would have worn jeans

Should I bring anything? Anything you want... - It would be great if you brought a fold up chair/or blanket to sit on - We will have light refreshments, feel free to bring a picnic meal or any yummy treats to share with the group. (we are planning anywhere between 20-30 people)

Ancil Hoffman Park is located on Tarshes Drive.
From U.S. Highway 50, take the Watt Avenue off-ramp.
Head north to Fair Oaks Blvd and make a right.
Follow Fair Oaks Blvd. to Van Alstine and make another right.
Make a left onto California Avenue,
then turn right at the park’s entrance.

Merkle, John James (Johnny Kobler)
Native Californian, showed up in San Bernardino on November 19, 1953 and broke on through June 14, 2008 on Flag Day. He loved to explore this earth and did so living in Italy, Colorado, Germany, Oklahoma to name a few. JJ was an avid outdoorsman, bookworm and video game master. His father Floyd John Kobler and step-sister Mayra preceded him on this journey. Survived by many; son to Virginia Merkle & step-mother Janet Kobler; husband to Karen Merkle; father to Virginia Merkle (Allen) & step-son Joshua Grant; Grand “PaPa” to Aislynn Rose Allen; brother to Beverly, Bobby, Bradley, Danny, Janice, Jerry, Leslie, Tammy and all their partners; uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. Life celebration held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, 6:30 PM at Ancil Hoffman Park.
