Todd Torok must have had a really big job to do with God, because he was yanked to heaven at 3:15 am on March 13, 2011.
The most generous loving conscientious loyal friend, husband and father that a family and community could ever experience has passed away. Todd loved Hermosa, chose Hermosa, sang in Hermosa (we met at the Lighthouse Karaoke Night in 1993) and had his friends and family in Hermosa Beach. He supported the merchants in Hermosa, the bars in Hermosa and Pier Plaza was his front yard.
Todd played drums in his band like a rock star and wrote music like a poet. He lived large, loved people, loved life, and most of all, loved me and loved being a Dad. He was at the height of his voice acting career and living in a place of complete validation for his hard work in a difficult industry and career.
The last five months have been the happiest time of our life as a family. His last day was amazing. Our daughter CC was in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We had a fabulous lunch with friends at Hennessey’s. Our son Stetson had a basketball game where he ran the time. Daddy/Todd was beaming with pride because his children were so amazing and talented.
That night we had a beautiful conversation about how awesome his proposal to marry me was and how elaborate and fun our wedding was. We put the kids to bed, made out and the rest ....well.... you’ll have to imagine. But then.....we lost him in what appears to be a heart attack.
Todd will be missed desperately by his wife Shauna of almost twelve years, his son Stetson, age 7, his daughter CC, age 5, his parents Dick and Joan Torok, sister Leslie Torok, Father-in-law, Dr. Richard Steiner, Sister-in-law Jeanelle Steiner, and an amazing number of family members, friends and colleagues who loved him dearly.
He charmed the world......
Wave to heaven, because he is definitely hovering over Hermosa. He is definitely with God, his source, and since God is everywhere, our Todd must be everywhere too.....
A Memorial to celebrate Todd’s life will be held on Sunday March 20, 2011 at 4:00pm at the Center for Spiritual Living, 907 Knob Hill in Redondo Beach (corner of Prospect and Knob Hill)
