My Story

Rex Gill was born 10th August,1934 and died 14th January, 1944

Born to parents Arthur Herbert born 1885 and Annie Beryl Gill

Rex was one of about 12-13 children. A Middle child.
He was in the Air Force and was no longer needed and he went out to work.
Rex was working for Dulux at the time of his death in sydney.

Rex was a mechanic also.

Rex married 1. Edna Spelling in 1959, Sydney. They had one child: Debra Kay Gill born 25th February, 1960.

2. Doreen Mary Williams in 1968, Sydney. They had one child: Lisa Jane Gill born 28th January, 1972, sydney.

Rex had suffered two heart attacks in the past and by the 14th January, the 3rd got him.
He had taken his daughter (Lisa) and wife out on the boat as he did most Sundays, fishing. He had complained earlier that he had chest pains, but wanted to take his family out there.

Unfortunately whilst on water, he suffered the third one. Mum waved some help down on the water, but it was too late by the time we got to shore. Mum tried to revive him, but it was too late.

He has 7 grandchildren: Dane, Emma, Matthew, Pierce, Dylan, Aimee-Lea and Georgia.
His 2 daughters: Debra and Lisa

he is buried at Rookwood Crematorium
