My Story

April 16, 2014 It has been 10 years since the passing of my husband of 36 years. It is hard to believe 10 years have gone by. At times it seems not too long ago and then other times it seems like an eternity. Grant was a loving husband and a good provider. He could make $1.00 stretch to $10.00. He had simple desires, he ate simple meals and dressed simply. Often I had to beg him to dress up. If you listen to the videos from his funeral you will see that his family and friends thought well of him. He fought the battle with diabetes and heart failure courageously. Grant loved to use humor re his artificial legs. He once asked a boy to take his legs for a walk as they were needing exercise. Another occasion we were at Wonderland and he took his legs off and put them upside down in the basket of his scooter. This provoked many shocked stares. Then there was the other talent of telling stories. They grew each time he told them. He is loved and remembered by his family and friends. His grand children were very young and one was not born yet when he passed so we try to let them know who he was and what he accomplished. It is good that we have some video interviews of Grant.
