My Story

"Looking forward, Looking back" - Slim Dusty ...

Robert Maxwell Gardiner was my grandfather. Pop was an inspiration to all people that ever encounted him in life. He was dedicated person to all he loved.  After seven years of cancer and trips in and out of hospital, he is finally at rest.

Robert worked as an electrician at the following places: National Railways, Mary Kathleen Uranium mines & Colgate Palmolive where he retired after 30 + years of service.

Roberts hobbies included many aspects, including renovating, building, music, travel, fishing, cars, family & many more.

Sussex Inlet brings a warmth to my heart as the annual fishing tournament is where he enjoyed fishing for his Blackfish (Luderick).

Over 2007 - 2008 Bob also managed to travel to the US with his daughter, Lisa for the Country music festival in Nashville. Over the two trips he learnt so much & enjoyed them immensely.

I will upload the eulogy from his funeral over the next few weeks.

The following people I would like to make special mention too were there over the period where he was really sick. They love & miss him dearly.

Myself: His grand daughter.
Jade: His grand daughters boyfriend. After the ups & downs, they both had so much respect for one another & I'm sure it will be a friendship that is missed.
Lorraine: His wife.
Lisa: His daughter.
Scott: His son in law. After it all, they were there for one another.
Hollie: His grand daughter.

Gone Fishin'

I've finished life's chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.

Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,.
I'm fishin' with the Master of the sea.

We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won't be long you will see,
Till we're together you and me.

To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin'
Just tell em I've gone fishin'
