Robert "Bob" Sterling Rising, 94, of Campbell
NY went to Gloryland on December 6, 2012 at Fred & Taylor
Health Center
in Bath, NY.
He was born on October 24, 1918,
in Thurston NY,
to Lucille and Clark Rising. Robert was proceeded in death by his sister Doris
Donley, brothers Harry Rising, Clifford Rising, Donald Rising, Bert Rising, and
step brother Robert Updike. He is survived by the love of his life (the Lady in
the Red Dress) of 63 years, Lillian Fox Rising: A son, James D. (Frances) Rising
of Campbell NY; A daughter, Carol A. (Robert) Male of Spencerport NY: Four
grandchildren, Teri A. Rising Doleski, Campbell NY; James A. (Makoto) Rising,
Juneau AK; Jolene C. (Terry) Hasseler, Bergen NY; and Brian R. (Tiffany) Male,
Orlando FL. He was also cherished by his four great grandchildren, Caitlin A.,
Kyle A., and Corey M. Doleski of Campbell NY;
Colby J. Male of Orlando FL
and a soon to be 5th great grandchild Hannah Rising. Robert also is survived by
a brother Oliver Rising, Garden Grove CA
and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Viewing hours will be December 10,
2012 from 1-3pm at Bond
Davis Funeral Home, 107 East Steuben St, Bath
NY. A committal service will immediately
follow the viewing at 3 pm,
officiated by Robert's nephew, Bruce Donley of Niagra Falls
NY.
Robert graduated from Campbell Central
School in 1940. He was a Dairy Farm
owner and operator for 35 years and continued to grow and reap crops for 15
years after. He served as an observer for the US
Army/ Air Force Aircraft Warning Service during World War II. He was also the
Thurston NY Town Justice, Town Councilman, and Town assessor, a life time
charter member of the Campbell Christian Missionary and Alliance
Church and a National Grange
Member.
