My Story

Yes, that is Dad you hear singing his signature song! Thank you, Stanley H!

Dad had a colorful and charmed life. That's why I made the memorial video under the Media section. It's my best effort at sharing Dad's life with all of you. I have also included an interview he did for the Royal Hawaiian around 2001-2002. Please check them out.

If you are interested in learning about Dick, Dad's brother, we have posted his interview from the battlefield of Korea in 1952. I have included so much about Dick because his life and death had a profound influence on Dad's life. Other than Mom, Dad loved Dick more than anything or anyone. It took years for us to get Dad to open up about him. This only happened when my grandmother died. While cleaning out her apartment, we found an old tin box with tons of letters Dick had written from the field. It was only then that we started to really learn about Dick.

I sincerely apologize that it has taken me so long after Dad's death to complete this memorial. 2012 and well into 2013 was a very difficult and tumultuous time for us, and I needed some time before proceeding with this tribute. I hope you'll understand.

My sisters and I are grateful to you, all of his friends. I especially want to thank Alice H., Eddie and Felicia M., Oran B., and Harold and Lynne P. You made a real difference in Dad's life through the end.
