My Story

Shanon Michael Reed, 28, born in Patterson, Calif., to Deborah Tammen and Michael Reed on September 14, 1979, but his daddy brought him to Texas as soon as he could. He departed this Earth on April 7.

Reed was a country boy and a simple, old-fashioned man. He often said that he was born a hundred years too late. He grew up in Texas and was a true Texan in his heart. He was a fantastic carpenter, a good mechanic and a great cook. He loved
fishing, hunting and tinkering with old vehicles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Reed and his stepfather, Stephen Romero.

He is survived by his children, Chassidy Reed, Michael Reed, Caitlin Reed, and Cole Reed; as well as his mother, Deborah Reed; sisters, Samantha Bryant and Lindsey Reed; stepbrothers, Jacob and Edward Romero; two nieces and one nephew. He will never be forgotten and he will always be loved.

At the age of 13 he met his future wife Kristi Henson, as years went by they developed a strong bond that later led to marriage and three children. Chassidy Nicole his first born child was born on December 14 1996, and filled the couples hearts and future with a bright light. Two years later the couple had there second child: Michael Blake, named mainly after Shanon's father was born on July 13, 1998. The couple were again filled with more joy, as they welcomed their first son into the world. The new family then left Vidor, Texas to be closer to Shanon's father: Michael Earl Reed, In Summerville, Texas, There the couple embraced the future with their third child well on the way. Caitlin Michelle was born on June 29, 2000. Later that year the couple returned home to Vidor Texas where hectic lives soon caught up, as it does with most young families, The couple filed for divorce and was finalized in 2003 despite the feelings that had once filed the young couples lives were always present and never forgotten. Later, after a long struggle, they were able to be friends and embrace the special bond that they shared.
Shanon then met Monica Mcdaniel where he spent the last 6 years of his life. They had a child, Cole Reed that meant the world to them.
Shanon will always hold a special place in all our hearts, and we will walk as a better person because of him. He gave so many special things to us, we will forever be grateful and in debt to him. Our hearts aches with the lost, but we know he will forever be in it. We will hold dear to our memories of him and keep his story alive. We will breathe and go ahead with life as he inteded us to.
