Sizakele Samkelisiwe Minkey Nkosi was born on September 4, 1991 in KwaZulu Natal in the eMpangeni village, where she spent most of her childhood. She went to Bhekumthetho primary school and continued to Bhokwe high school, where she completed her matric in 2008. Sizakele moved to Johannesburg 2012, and volunteered at Healing Sizabantu where she worked on various projects. In 2014 she joined City Year South Africa where she served her last three months, making a difference in the lives of others. Her journey came to end after a brief illness while in Kwazulu Natal with her family and passed away on Friday the 25th April 2014.
Sizakele leaves behind her 3 year old daughter Amahle Nkosi, her older siblings two brothers and her sister and her parents Mr.Avron Nkosi and Mrs. Boniwe Nkosi.
Sizakele served in Malerato Primary school in the Westrand District in Gauteng, under the leadership of Lebo Ratjie. Though only with her team for a brief period, she will always be remembered for her words of encouragement and sharing spiritual passages to motivate her peers. She was a young woman who was very reserved but her humility and respect for everyone is what here team cherished and will miss most most about her.
Sizakele will be laid to rest on Saturday the 3 May 2014.
