On Sunday December 3, 2000 Jesus picked yet another one of his flowers, Taurus DeVaughn Smith to fulfil God's plan. Taurus DeVaughn was born April 25, 1975 to Dwain and Mary Gale Smith. DeVaughn was a graduate of Norcross High School Class of 1994, there he played football for 4 years and wrestled. In wrestling he won state finals.
He joined Hopewell Baptist Church at the age of 6 and was baptized by Bishop William L. Sheals. In March of 2000, he reunited his walk with God, giving Him all the glory and praises through his time of sickness.
He touched hearts of so many people by being respectful and giving even during his illness. DeVaughn help take care of his grandparents, giving them their favorite foods, running to the store and just sitting with them. There was even a time that DeVaughn needed to go to the hospital and refused because he wanted to see about his grandfather. He had a loving heart and was full of charm.
He loved all of his friends and truly appreciated his special friends Chad Williams, Chuck Green, and Whitney Walker as they cared for him during his time of illness. He appreciated the whole 8th floor Nursing Staff of Gwinnnett Medical for being his moms away from home; and Dr. Sarma and his staff for God inspiring them to go the extra mile with him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, loving parents who led him to Christ and through the most trying time of his life let him know that God has already taken the sting out of death. Because of their love for Jesus they trusted God to take care of His child. A devoted friend, Jennifer Swain.
