My Story

Hildred was borned to Dewie and Tempie Burleson Mckinney,May 29,1935.They resided at Ingalls NC.She had seven brothers and sisters.Corneilous,tommy,Frank,Jack,Thelma and Nellie.She went to school at Riverside,NC.When she grew up,she met Evin Hopson.They were married December 1,1948 ,at Roaring Creek,by Garfield Hughes.Evin was the son of John Linney and Della Grindstaff Hopson.Evin and Hildred had seven children Danny,Gail,Vickie,Kathy,Lana,Lorana,and DL.At Hildreds passing she had 14 grandchildren,and 30 greatgrandchildren.Hildred worked at cannon memorial hospital,in the diet kitchen for a few years.later she worked at the tar heel mica co for thirteen yrs.She retired there.She was a wonderful christian woman.Evin was a preacher.They had a quartet for a few yrs.Evin Hildred,Frank,and Vickie.After Vickie was married they had another quartet.Evin,hiHildred,Deckie ,Calvin,Dolly,and Joe.These were her brother and sisters in law.They sang togather until her passing.She was a wonderful wife and mother.She will always be remembered for her testimony and lessons in Life
