On the 15th of December, 2006, the day was filled with anticipation for the arrival of Xavier. We delayed going to the hospital, so when we got there, things were well and truly happening. He took a bit of persuasion, but when he finally came, he flew through the air and plopped on the bed, letting out a manly cry. He was born at 9.30 pm and weighed 7lb 14oz. As we all swaddled him and gazed upon this beautiful miracle, we couldn’t help but notice his uncanny resemblance to his father, Josh. He was a hairy little Italian and needed his first hair cut after just a few weeks.
Xavier was not the type of person who smiled frequently, as he was always thinking. But when you were blessed with one of his smiles, it would melt your heart. He was loved by all who met him, and had the sweetest angelic laugh and voice. He had an inquisitive nature and the cutest little posterior.
Xavier enjoyed treasured moments of playing in the park with his mummy, Hayley-Anne, and his big sister, Kiannah. He also enjoyed adventures with his daddy, Josh, and Kiannah.
Xavier loved his food from the very beginning. He enjoyed Weet-Bix from when he first started eating solids. He was a savoury man over sweet, and didn’t mind the occasional sip of bourbon either. He also liked to have a beer with his Grandad Brian, who didn’t mind sharing. Just like his Grandma Barbara, Xavier enjoyed his fruit and always had to have some of hers.
Xavier was a typical boy, who from a young age, was fascinated by anything with wheels and he adored his cars. He loved to ride his little bikes and boy could he get those small legs scootering!
Xavier loved being in the presence of people and was content to sit in the lap of a loved one without squirming or wriggling. He was always by your side and would follow you from room to room, watching and learning.
He loved his Grandad Danny’s and Grandma Barbara’s dog, Harley, who loved him back and wasn’t bothered when he recently began playing with her nipples. He also has fun times chasing after his Grandad Brian’s dog, little Lucky, under and over obstacles.
Xavier enjoyed picking and smelling dandelions from the yard and splashing in a pool in the afternoon sun with his sister, Kiannah. They were like two peas in a pod.
Xavier had a shoe fetish and absolutely adored wearing his little orange clogs whether they were on the right feet or not. He liked to help his Grandad Danny take off his work boots and socks so he could wear his Grandad’s boots around the house.
When at Grandma Ann’s he liked to admire himself in the mirror and has left a special handprint just for her.
Grandad Brian taught him to throw his arms in the air and say “All gone” when he had finished something.
Xavier was scared of most loud noises, like vacum cleaners and his Grandma Ann’s massager, but not if they were being made by a ride-on mower.
Xavier never walked around empty-handed. There was always a little toy in his hand.
He was a much loved little man, nicknamed “Little Froggy” by his mum; “Little Elvis” by his dad; “Bubby” by Grandma Ann; “Mr Moo” by Grandma Barbara; “Buddy” by Grandad Brian and “Zavia” to his close friends and family.
Xavier loved to play with other kids and especially loved following the older ones, watching and learning. Xavier adored his time at Day Care and spending time with his new found friends Brianna and Bailey. Xavier had lots of treasured memories with his bigger cousins Courtney and Iekey who loved him very much. But his greatest friend and idol was his big sister, Kiannah, whom he never let out of his sight, following her like a puppy dog. She was always there teaching him, caring for him and loving him.
Will always be remembered by…
