Ardell was born on October 24, 1966, to Shelton and Patricia Baines. She was the apple of her paternal grandfather’s eye. His special girl was nicknamed Lucy and it stuck to this very day. Everyone wanted to know why she was named Lucy. It was because of her ability to get into trouble, blame it on something or someone else, get someone to help her cover it up and when the game plan failed, run to grandpa to say “See what they did“.
