My Story

Mary June Mackey was born in Arkansas to John and Edna Mackey on Mar.4,1932. She was the second child born, having an older sister Betty who was 5yrs older. Almost 10yrs went by and she and Betty got a baby sister Wanda. The family eventually moved out to Calif. Mary married Robert Foster and had 3 children, the first son was still born on Mary's birthday. His name is Rocky. In 1957 Mary and Robert who were known as Bob and June had their daughter Susan. Mary loved being a Mom. In 1960 they had their son John. Mary and Bod divorced after 15 yrs of marrige but always loved each other. Life went on and her kids married and gave her grandkids. A total of 7 between her to living children. Through her grandchildren Mary became great grandma to 13 kids. She loved those babies and just loved being around her grandaughter Christals active little ones , who she got to see at least twice a week. Mary lived in Susanville for a couple years before moving back to Wa and got to enjoy her sister Betty's kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Betty had passed away many years before. Mary or Aunt June as the family there called her cherished those times. Mary missed her sister Wanda very much. They were very close. Her sister Wanda lives in Indiana, but they talked every day until Mary became ill and was on life support. When they were younger they had so much fun hanging out in the L.A area, and the family has some very funny stories about those times. They both lived in Northern Ca. for awhile and played Bingo together and just enjoyed each other. Mary was the ultimate Mom, who did everything she could for her kids so unselfisly. She is missed so much and her daughters heart is so broken. Her daughter was holding her hand when she passed so Mary was not alone. Her grandaughter Christal held her arm and her devoted son-in-law Eddie held her other hand. She knew she did not have to die alone and she did not.
