My Story

Betty was born May 13, 1922 to Solon and Amy Edwards in Manti, Utah and raised in Sterling, UT where she enjoyed farm life and trips to the mountains with her family. She cared for her ailing mother who died in her early childhood. This had a significant impact on her life.

She is survived by two sisters Leda Frame and Helen Lee and four children Darrel, Gay Larsen, Pam Balls, and David. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Francis, brother Alma and three sisters Lida Edwards, Laura Jepsen and Myrle Jones.

Betty met and married Francis Hochstettler on May 27, 1945 in Las Vegas, NV and was later sealed for time and eternity in the Jordan River Temple. They farmed and worked in real estate in Ohio and later moved to Utah to be close to their children.

Betty was the mother of four children, Gay, Darrel, Pam, and David. She has a total of 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Throughout her life Betty demonstrated a deep faith and testimony of the gospel that sustained her through many trials. She easily made close friends and was loved by all of those who associated with her.

She was a great cook and loved to see her family enjoy her delicious meals, especially during the holidays and other family gatherings. She took great delight in being with her children and grandchildren who where the delight of her life.
