Elizabeth Doreen McCarron nee Thompson
“Betty”
August 30 1930-October 16, 2008
Born to Clarence and Bertha Thompson of Milltown Cross Betty was one of six children. Her sisters are Ethel and Vivian the late Billy Thompson, the late David Thompson and Darrel. Nan grew up with loving parents that taught her to trust in God, love and respect one another and work hard. Betty married Eustachius McCarron December 26th 1948. They had two children Stephen and Sherry. Eustachius and Betty worked hard to provide for their family as best they could. Pop drove a tractor trailer and hauled Xmas trees for years. Nan worked such jobs as a home maker, housekeeper, and on the wood Islands ferry. Nan was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother. She wanted the best for her family and to see everyone work together and love one another. She didn’t want her family to have any of the struggles she had faced in early years. Nan loved to cook, bake and crochet. She made the best baby blankets. Every one of her great grandchildren was blessed with a homemade blanket. Nan lost Pop in September of 2003. She found the time long and missed him very much. Nan worried about us all way too often but through God found peace for her worries. There are three grandchildren Nadine, Natasha and Michael. We loved and miss her dearly. She was a good Nana to all of us treating us and taking us on little adventures. Nan was blessed with five great grandchildren Owen, Noah Adison, Isaiah and Samantha who all miss her and loved her. The boys are still talking about when Nanny was telling them after she got out of the hospital she would take them for a treat of ice cream. Nan and I got to travel to Grand Prairie a month before she became ill to meet Samantha. It was a trip I will never forget. God knew! Nan became suddenly ill and lost her battle with life here on earth on October 16th 2008. She was surrounded by her family and close friend Sarah. On behalf of our family I would like to thank Dr. Hambley, the nursing staff at KCMH especially Brenda Bell Nan’s favourite nurse. Thanks as well too Southern Kings & Queens’s funeral home, Pall Bearers, Honorary pall bearers and flower bearers. A special thanks to those who called, sent cards and prayed for us. Thank you, Aunt Ethel for the reception after at your home. I know you didn’t just lose your sister that day you lost your best friend. I know that if Nan would want us to do one thing that would to be faithful in prayer and trust in the Lord.
