Joseph Oliver LeBlanc better known as “Big Joe” was a born native of Lafayette, LA on April 9, 1947. He was a 1966 graduate of Holy Rosary Institute and an employee of Lafayette Parish School Board for over 21 years. Joe was an active and well-known member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and he also enjoyed serving his community by delivering food to the elderly with Meals on Wheels.
He was married to a magnificent woman, Willie Ann Living-LeBlanc, for 38 wonderful years. Within those years they were blessed with two beautiful children; Dexter Clayton LeBlanc and Kelly Charell LeBlanc. Joe endured a long battle of illness and overcame obstacles that many would have succomb to. He depended solely on his Healer and Savior Jesus Christ for his everlasting faith and courage.
Joe is survived by his wife and children; his sister Pearl Glaude and her husband Steven Glaude, nephews David and Corey Glaude. Four aunts: Anna Broussard and her husband Sterling Broussard, Vina Broussard, Ezola Mouton and her husband Dennris Mouton, and Sadie LeBlanc. Four brother-in-laws: Whitney Living, Johnny Living, Dudley Living, and Patrick Living and three sister-in-laws: Eula Washington, Gertie Living, and Patricia Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mayola Morrison-LeBlanc, father Clayton LeBlanc; two uncles: Lloyd LeBlanc and Aaron Morrison, three aunts: Viola Goodie, Mildred Sonnier and Edna Roy.
