Brogan was born on 27th November 1996. From the age of 6 weeks old she was brought up by her Mum, Gill, on her own. Gill did a fantastic job of bringing Brogan up and playing both Mum & Dad to her. She continued to live with her own parents with Brogan until she could afford a nice home for Brogan and that's just what she did.
Brogan grew into a delightful little girl. She was kind and polite and loved anything girly that was pink and full of glitter. Brogan's hobby in life was to shop and she loved nothing better than going into town with her Mum on a Saturday, and sometimes me too if I was visiting them to have a good old shop and "do lunch".
Brogan loved singing and dancing and could make anybody laugh. She loved to be centre of attention and the bond she grew to have with her Mum was just unbreakable.
Later Gill met Paul, and Brogan began to love him too! She worried about Gill at first (with her older than years mature attitude) but she grew to love him and respected that although he wasn't her Dad, Paul was playing an important part of bringing Brogan up with Gill.
Just as life was hitting an all time high for Brogan and she was maturing into a lovely young girl, approaching her teenage years she became unwell. Days later she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and that was the day her bravery kicked in. Brogan amazed everyone with how brave she was and she taught everyone, but especially her Mum to be brave around her! Brogan fought the dreadful illness and came out on the better side... but not for long. The cancer returned and this time despite giving chemotherapy a try and surgery... there was nothing that could be done.
Brogan kept her brave attitude throughout all of her illness and amazingly brought Gill, Paul and all the family through that dreadful time. As time was drawing to a close for Brogan, we witnessed just how strong the bond she had with her Mum was, as she gave an emotional look to her Nan and Grandad and asked them to "look after Mummy when I am not here and don't let her be sad". Hours later, Brogan died peacefully.
Harry was born very premature as a result of the stress Gill was under at losing Brogan. Harry was born at 28 weeks, just 2 weeks after Brogan died. Despite his severe prematurity, he fought with his angel sisters bravery and determination. Although he fought and won the battle, his prematurity had left him with longer lasting complications which meant life wasn't easy for him.
Harry was forever in and out of hospital and on and off oxygen. He had heart complications and suspected visual impairment. Brogan shone through her little brother as he developed her smile and his love for his Mum was that of his big sisters!!
Harry had numerous chest infections and was always in hospital after getting pneumonia or bronchiolitis. Each time he went in, he would have the staff wrapped around his little finger and they proved to know him inside out when they had Thomas the Tank videos waiting to play for him!!
When Harry was just 8 months old he was admitted into hospital again, but this time was very poorly. He had bronchiolitis which was very severe and caused him to be ventilated. Harry had a collapsed lung and his heart was failing. He began to have seizures and that night was blessed. THe following morning Harry died peacefully to join his sister.
Brogan and Harry are missed so very much by heart-broken Gill and Paul and all the family and friends. Their memory will live on in all of our hearts as we focus on keeping their memory and their name alive.
Goodnight God Bless Brogan and Harry X X X X X X
