David Edward Perry, a devoted husband to Jennifer Perry and Father too Diane Price and grandad to Gemma and Claire Price. Since the age of fourteen grandad worked hard and was a extremely gifted and skilled carpenter. Grandad showed his skill through all the years of his craftmanship, and not only showed this through work but for doing extra work for family and friends.
Grandad had a huge heart. He was the kind of man that would do anything for anyone, would give his last change in his pocket to someone who needed it. Grandad was a man of few words, yet he did not need to speak much because you could see the love and congruence within his eyes.
There are many happy memories of grandad, too many to mention on this page.
When grandad retired he enjoyed taking grandma out in their little corsa and enjoying each others company. He was a talented and keen gardener, and each summer, grandad and grandma would make their garden look beautiful together.
The family used to joke because grandad and grandma used to regularly visit Morrissons supermarket and have lunch, where grandad would enjoy his bacon sandwich! We used to call it 'Hotel Morrissons' because they visited it a lot.
Grandma and Grandad used to live in Devon and I have many happy memories as a child, visiting them. They had a lovelly house not far from the beach and grandad used to take me and show me the ships. Grandad also liked to play cards, it was Claire's and grandad's special past time. When grandad used to walk into the room, Claire would run up too him and jump on his lap.
Grandad loved and treasured his daughter Diane, he would do anything for her, especially around the home. Grandad was like 'bob the builder' as soon as you called he would be straight round to fix the problem! Even when grandad passed he was doing a job for a friend. Grandma and Grandad shared a cat called Bud, cheeky little thing and very spoilt, both grandma and grandad loved him, although grandad would tell grandma off for treating him too much!
Grandad was the kind of man who did not cause trouble he kept himself to himself, his heart was so big, he was so caring and so loved by not only family but friends too. He was an angel and there is no doubt that for all grandad's hard work and love on earth, he is being kindly rewarded now in heaven xxxx
