My Story

Devon John Landau

A man of many talents....

*Film Producer

*Sculptor and Artist.

In late 2005, I came to work with Devon at a major Australian bank for a special project team. He was the Project Manager and I, together with 2 others, were the Business Analysts. Devon was the big picture man and the rest of us took care of the details.

This project was very important and involved big dollars but Devon liked to relieve the tension by keeping up with the gossop columns particularly involving Russell Crowe, Clover Moore (Sydney politician) and Paris Hilton. He was particularly impressed with Paris....the disappearance of Tinker Bell, burying her pet goat, Billy next to Marilyn Monroe and being bitten by her pet kinkajoo.

He had a great sense of humour that I and many of his friends and colleagues appreciated or some at least tolerated in a quiet office. There were a number of highpoints in our year of working together - one being his excitement in placing his entire day's contract pay on the Melbourne Cup (horse race) and picking the winner.

Devon was a man of integrity. He believed in people doing the right thing. If someone didn't, he sure let them know. He looked out for his friends and always remembered the people who stuck by him when things were not so good. Some rough times left him with an affinity for those not so fortunate - people that he regularly helped particularly in his local neighbourhood in inner East Sydney.

Devon - you are greatly missed.
