My Story

This obituary was created in the memory of our beloved Daniel Lyons who was born in Ames, IA on July 4th, 1973 and passed away on the 20th of June, 2013, 39 years of age at 11:54PM, peacefully in his sleep. Daniel grew up in a loving home, with his mother, father and sister. He attended High School in Red Oak and played junior high football, then later moved to Ames where he played varsity football, swimming and baseball.

Due to at-home issues, he was forced to drop out of school in 11th grade. At the age of 18 he joined the military and served a full 4 year term. Daniel enjoyed sports, and his beach home in southern Alabama. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His funeral will be held in Iowa City, Iowa where he will be buried with his parents, sister, and brother-in-law.
