My Story

Grandma Emeli went home on April 15, 2009, leaving behind her legacy of joy, life and love for all of her loved ones, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was born in Manu'a, American Samoa, to the Late Eti Aleaga and Lolomi Aleaga in 1924. She was married to the Late Iete Maualuga, who preceeded her in death in July 2000. Together, they raised six children in Ofu, Olosega and Sili, Manu'a: Misioka, Toeana, Valo, Talatonu (Deceased 2006), Fonoao (Deceased 2008), and Fanua. Altogether, they have been blessed with 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

We, her family, remember her as a loving woman who showed compassion throughout her life, instilling faith, hope, and love to all she would meet, to include the young and defenseless. There is no other woman quite like herfaithful mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend. She had a heart of goldshe was a happy, courageous, and humble soul; and she inwardly portrayed characteristics of a true leader by her softly spoken words of wisdom. She will be truly missed by all who have been blessed by her life of service to her family, friends, and last but not least, her God.

Emeli will be remembered for her caring ways and devoted life as a woman of faith. Until we meet her again, we will cherish her in our hearts and carry on her legacy of true love, peace, and harmony. May it shine through us and out into the world in which we live in. May God comfort us in our time of need and may we seek first His kingdom in all we do and say. Peace be unto you. In Jesus' name.
