Born in Liverpool in 1940 to Sarah and William. Eric had 4 sisters Gladys, Audrey, Doreen and Eileen, and one brother Billy (surviving twin).
Married 6 th March 1957 to his lovely wife of nearly 50 years ,Carole Drescher , who sadly passed away 2nd September 2006. Eric never got over his loss.
He was a loving, caring family man with four children, Denise, Lesley, Michelle and Andrew.
Nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Paul, Ross, Gary, Philip, Victoria, Chris, Matt and Dan, and one great grandchild Emily.
Eric worked as an accountant in Carters for many years but started out in life as a milk man.
He was best known in the District for his involvement with the Dorians dramatic society. Eric produced, directed, created, built sets for the plays and wrote pantomime scripts. Most of all though he gave people opportunities and fought hard to keep the group going against all of the odds, only retiring due to ill health.
He had a wicked sense of humour and could always make you smile in a crisis.'
He was a " true gentle man" . He wil be sadly missed but never ever forgotten.
