My Story

Erin Nicole was my cousin. Erin was the type of person everyone loved. She was popular in everything and friends with everyone. Erin had such a kind heart. I admired her and still do. I never had a big sister, but that's okay because Erin was like my big sister. She watched out for me, gave me advice and was always there for me. She was a kindergarten teacher in a dangerous neighborhood because that is where she wanted to be. Erin was a truly amazing person. Friday Oct. 6th,2006 at 7:00am. Erin was driving to work. A car going the wrong way hit her head on and caused 3 other vehicles to hit her as well. The driver sped off and we still do not know who killed my cousin. We were told she died on impact. The day she was killed I was at a retreat that lasted Thurs. night-Sunday Mid Afternoon. Sunday early morning my teacher told me to pack my things because my mom was here. I was taken to a room filled with cops, psychologists, my mom and the head of the camp. I was then told my cousin was killed Friday. I lost it. The cops had to hold me back, and I quickly became numb. I didn't want to believe it. To this day I still cannot believe that Erin was killed. She was everyone's friend. She helped anyone and cared about everyone. Erin was just 23 years old when she was killed. She was an amazing woman, cousin, sister, daughter, niece, godmother, teacher, friend, granddaughter-an amazing everything. I love and miss you so much Erin. Rest In Peace.
