Flossie Pearl Elder, 87, of Greenville died Jan. 13, 2009, at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Joyce Pattison officiating. Burial will follow in East Mount Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.Mrs. Elder was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Paducah, daughter of Fletcher and Mary Suzie Hobbs Messer. In 1938, she married Oscar Daniel Elder in Paducah; he preceded her in death. She worked as an LVN and belonged to the Pentecostal church. Her survivors include three sons Jack Elder and wife Cristina and Billy Elder and wife Vicky, all of Greenville, and Willy Elder and wife Denise of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 11 daughters, Helen Hamilton and husband Paul of Alaska, Betty Greenwaldt and husband Richard of Lakewood, Calif., Glenda Price and husband Joe of Whitesboro, Barbara Harris and husband Alfred of Campbell, Patsy Horne and husband Charlie of Greenville, Brenda Hicks and husband Tommy of Irving, Debra Bass and husband Troy of Cash, Carolyn Ott and husband Jim of Coloma, Mich., Kathy Hunter and husband Randy of Coloma, Mich., Lilly Elder of Cash and Alice Elliott and husband Lance of Lubbock; two brothers and one sister, James Messer, George Gilmore and Ruby Miller, all of Fort Worth; 37 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons Ronald and Donald Elder; a daughter, Judy Elder; son James Elder; two sisters, Corey Mae and Dorothy Miller; and a brother, William Messer.Pallbearers will be grandsons Billy Wayne Price, Charlie Horne, Daniel Harris, Chris Harris, J.D. Elder, Jim Elder, Troy Bass Jr. and Jason Elder.
