Hi my dad is called Fred Thomas he was born in Featherstone west yorkshire on may 21st 1943. He later moved to Castleford, he worked most of his life down Sharlston pit near Wakefield he started when he was just 20 years old and finished when the pit shut in 1993, he spent 30 years working at Sharlston. He was married to my mum freda and had 3 daughters Julie, Deborah and Tracey also a step son called edward,he had 3 son in laws Ian, Mick and Ged and a step daughter in law helen, he had 5 beautiful grandkids Daniel, Ben, Rebecca, James and Chloe who he loved very much.And he thought highley of stephen and samantha My dad loved to socialise in the roundhill club where he was very well liked and had many friends his bestest friend is Barry Skitt who he knew for 40 years his other friends, to name but a few were Ian and June Walton, Ian payne, Barry and Sam, Steve Coulson, Cliff and Carl Newton and many more.He loved to have a bet on the horses . On january 30th 2008 we all got a very big shock when my dad suddenly but peacefully died in bed, from that day on our lives changed forever, god bless you dad we all love you and miss you one day we will see you again.
